EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. – The University of Pennsylvania men's golf team finished ninth out of 12 teams—four of which entered the event with a top-25 national ranking—at the Hamptons Intercollegiate, which concluded Tuesday at the par-72 Maidstone Club.

Penn shot 312-289-307 across the two-day, 54-hole tournament to finish at 44-over-par 908. No. 12 Ole Miss was the team champion, rolling to a 20-stroke victory at 26-under-par 838. Tenth-ranked Florida State was second, at 6-under-par 858, followed by No. 3 Virginia one stroke behind. Among the other Ivy League teams in the field, Princeton (887, +23) was sixth, Harvard (900, +36) was eighth just ahead of the Quakers, and Yale (917, +53) was 11th.
Sophomore
Max Fonseca was Penn's low scorer at Maidstone, shooting 73-71-72 to finish at even-par 216 and tying for ninth in a field of 66 golfers. Senior
Ben Scott had the best round by a Quaker in the tournament, a 2-under-par 70 in the second round, and tied for 44th overall at 229. Senior
George Roessler was right behind him at 230, tying for 47th, while sophomore
Hayden Adams carded a three-round 234 while Wesley finished the tournament with a 250 score.
Mississippi's Michael La Sasso was the individual medalist, shooting three under-par rounds and finishing the event at 15-under-par 201. That left his six shots ahead of Wake Forest's Marshall Meisel (210, -6).
