PHILADELPHIA – After dominating in the first conference game of the season,
Cam Janock and
Adrian Montemayor of the University of Pennsylvania sprint football team earned CSFL weekly awards announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Linebacker Janock earned Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, while kicker Montemayor landed his third Special Team Player of the Week award of the year following Penn's 24-14 victory at Caldwell this past Saturday.
Janock had a season-high outing against the Cougars, tallying a team-high nine stops, including eight solos. The senior also recorded two tackles and sacks for a loss of 11 yards and an interception.
Montemayor continued his hot start to the season in the Garden State, making three extra-point kicks in the game. The senior also nailed a 29-yard field goal and averaged 40 yards a punt in the CSFL South battle.
Janock, Montemayor, and the rest of the Quakers head to Navy on Friday for a 7 p.m. battle with the Midshipmen.
