Sprint Football's Goodman Named CSFL Rookie of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – Freshman tailback JT Goodman was crucial in getting the University of Pennsylvania sprint football team's run game going Friday night in a 21-9 win over Cornell at Franklin Field, subsequently named CSFL Rookie of the Week late Monday evening.

Goodman had a special performance for the Quakers on Friday, rushing 26 times for 76 yards and two touchdowns as Penn earned its first win of the year and 10th straight over the Big Red since 2013.

Penn's scoreline was bookended by Goodman TDs as the first-year scored late in the first quarter to make it 7-0 and put the finishing touches on the win with 2:36 remaining with another one-yard run.

In addition, sophomore linebacker Gavin Griswold earned honorable mention recognition following a nine-tackle performance, eight of which were solo stops.

The Red and Blue play their final road game of the year on Friday night at Army, kicking off at 7 p.m. from Shea Stadium.
