#3 Wildcats Top Field Hockey In Evanston, 3-1

EVANSTON, Ill. – The University of Pennsylvania field hockey team clashed with No. 3 Northwestern to wrap up their trip to Illinois on Sunday, falling to the Wildcats 3-1.

Quaker Notemeal
*It is the third time in program history the two teams have met, the first time on Northwestern's turf.

*Senior Allison Kuzyk scored the lone goal for the Quakers, her second straight day with a finish and third of the season.

*Senior goalkeeper Frederique Wollaert recorded a career-high 11 saves in 60 minutes of work, the second time in her career with double-digit saves. Her former high was 10 set last year at home against the Wildcats.

*Penn had four shots with two on target for the game. Northwestern put 14 shots on target, although the Quaker defense held the Wildcats to just one shot in the final quarter.

How It Happened
The Wildcats were consistent through the first three quarters, finding the back of the cage in each for a 3-0 lead headed to the final frame. In those three quarters, Northwestern put 13 shots on target while Wollaert racked in 10 of them to tie her career high set last year against the Wildcats.

She set the bar higher in the fourth, making her 11th save to keep NU off the board while Kuzyk dropped the deficit to two goals with her second straight day with a finish. In the 51st minute, Freedman found Kuzyk inside the circle, who roped off a shot past the Wildcat keeper for the Quaker's first goal.

In the final nine minutes, the Northwestern defense that has only given up three total goals this season held strong to not allow another shot, solidifying the 3-1 decision.

Up Next
