PHILADELPHIA – The No. 14 University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team scored 10 unanswered goals between the end of the first and late stages of the third quarter to pad its lead in a 15-8 victory against Dartmouth in the regular season finale Saturday at Penn Park.
 
Senior 
Niki Miles scored six goals to lead Penn's offensive attack, followed closely by 
Anna Brandt's four and two for 
Maria Themelis. 
Erika Chung had a team-high pair of assists.
 
With the win, the Quakers finish the Ivy League slate unblemished with a 7-0 record, improving to 11-4 overall before hosting the Ivy League tournament next weekend.

*Van Hoesen faced just 16 shots, making four saves (including the 100th of her season).
 
*Penn out-shot Dartmouth, 34-16, including 25-12 in shots on goal. The Quakers were 16-for-17 on clears and had the lead in draw controls, 18-9.
 
How It Happened
Penn scored the game's first two goals, back-to-back unassisted scores from 
Niki Miles and 
Anna Brandt to take a quick 2-0 lead with 12:29 to go in the first quarter.
 
Dartmouth got on the scoreboard with 10:17 left, but Miles answered with her second of the game five minutes later off the assist from 
Erika Chung, leading 3-1 with 5:09 to play.
 
The Big Green notched three goals in a row over the next three minutes to end the first quarter, taking a 4-3 lead with 58 seconds remaining. Brandt scored her second of the day with 10 seconds on the clock to equalize the contest at 4-4 heading into the second quarter.
 
Brandt's late first-quarter goal spurred a run of 10 unanswered for the Quakers over the next 25 minutes of action, as the Quakers took a 13-4 lead with 4:06 to play in the third quarter. Of those goals, Miles' third of the game with 12 seconds remaining in the first half proved to be the 100th point of her career.
 
Lucy Murray finally broke the Dartmouth scoring drought with a late third-quarter score, making it 13-5 with 1:03 to play. Brandt scored with 17 seconds remaining in the third to up the Penn lead to 14-5 heading into the final stanza.
 
Dartmouth scored the first three goals of the fourth to cut the deficit to 14-8 and nearly held the Quakers goalless for the entirety of the last frame, but Miles notched her sixth of the game (52nd of the year) to increase the lead to seven, as Penn settled for the 15-8 victory.
