PHILADELPHIA – The #20 University of Pennsylvania wrestling team closes out the 2023 portion of its campaign this weekend, heading to the Windy City for Midlands Championships hosted by Northwestern on Friday and Saturday.

Last Time Out
The Red and Blue have had the last few weeks off, hitting the mat this weekend for the first time since December 3, when Penn competed in the Patriot Open. Five Quakers placed in the top five of their weight classes at Patriot, with
Ryan Miller (125) grabbing second place to lead the Quakers.
Nico Nardone (141),
Jackson Polo (149), and
Kaya Sement (165) all placed fourth in their brackets, while freshman
Zach Delsanter (285) earned fifth place to round out the Red and Blue's top five finishes.
Windy City Warriors
The last time Penn battled it out at Midlands in 2022, the Quakers dominated the Windy City, taking second place as a team, while
Michael Colaiocco won the 133 bracket. Five other grapplers placed in the top ten, with
Nick Incontrera placing second in the 174,
Doug Zapf grabbing third in the 149 bracket, and
Anthony Artalona taking fourth at 157 while earning the fastest fall (13 seconds) at the tournament.
Lucas Revano (165),
Cole Urbas (197), and
Ben Goldin (285) all placed seventh to wrap up the Quakers' reign at Midlands.
