How It Happened
The first frame was defensive both ways, with only one shot going off through 15 minutes. On a penalty corner for the Crimson, they fired one off from the top of the circle that was blocked by the Quaker line.
Scoreboard silence carried into the second quarter, although Harvard maneuvered off six more shots. Only one of those went on target though, a save for Wollaert to keep the game knotted at zero.
A more-level third quarter saw the teams closely split shot attempts, however, one for the Crimson was the decider in the game. A cross through the middle of the circle from the left side was kicked out by Wollaert. The deflection, though, was corralled by Harvard, sending it into the right side of the cage for the 1-0 advantage.
Heading to the final 15 minutes, neither team got off more than one shot each. For the Quakers, the equalizer was hopeful with nearly 10 minutes left when Ryan sent a shot in that was kicked away by the Crimson keeper. As the time ticked away, both sides wouldn't surrender another shots as Harvard held onto its slim advantage for the final decision.
