REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The University of Pennsylvania women's golf team finished the fall portion of its 2023-24 schedule with a second-place finish at the University of Delaware's Lady Blue Hen Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event included 11 teams and concluded Sunday on the par-72 course at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
Penn had an eight-stroke lead after Saturday's first round, fell behind host Delaware after the second round, but like the rest of the field was overwhelmed by Harvard's incredible third round on Sunday. The Crimson shot 8-under-par 280 as a team in Sunday's final round and finished the weekend at 16-over-par 880. Penn, which had the second-best round on Sunday (294), finished the event at 886 which was one stroke ahead of the Blue Hens (887). The other Ivy in the field, Columbia, tied for sixth (920).

Sophomore
Julie Shin was Penn's low scorer on the weekend, going under par in the first round (71) and finishing with a three-round score of 4-over-par 220 that included 39 pars which was tied for third in the field. Overall, she tied for sixth in a field of 66 golfers. Freshman
Madeleine Zang shot an even-par 72 on Saturday morning and ended the weekend at 6-over-par 222, tying for 11th overall, while sophomore
Bridget O'Keefe was one stroke behind at 223 (including 38 pars, fifth overall) which had her 14th in the field. Junior
Natalie Cao and freshman
Maggie Ni both finished at 227 for the event and tied for 19th overall, Cao shooting an even-par 72 in Sunday's final round and finishing as one of just five players in the field to score an eagle during the tournament (hers coming on the ninth hole in Saturday's first round).
Delaware's Alisa Khokhlova was the individual medalist, shooting 70 on Sunday to finish the weekend at 2-under-par 214. That left her a stroke ahead of teammate Oihana Etxezarreta and two ahead of Navy's Emma Tang.
