PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's squash teams split non-conference matches with Trinity Sunday afternoon from the Penn Squash Center, with the the women suffering a sweep at the hands of the #1 team in the College Squash Association (CSA) rankings and the men knocking off the Bantams, 7-2.

On the women's side, the Quakers put up a strong fight against the top-ranked Bantams who have now won 25 of 26 regular season matches dating back to the start of last season.

Avni Anand pushed her match at No. 2 to four games, and went to 17-15 in a marathon second game. Anand's co-captain Ashley Manning also pushed her match at No. 4 to four games. The No. 5 match involving Natasha Pensler went five games, with the freshman rallying from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits.

As they did yesterday against Yale, the men took the day's first five matches, with Dillon Hang rallying from two games down, and Saksham Choudhry picking up career win #47 among the early highlights.

Nathan Kueh started the day with a four-game win at No. 1 and Abdelrahman Dweek followed with a four-game win at No. 8. Huang picked up his third 0-2 comeback win in the last two seasons to cap the first flight sweep, dropping just six points total across dominant fourth and fifth games.

Nick Spizzirri put up a bagel in the first game of his 3-0 win that took just 36 minutes, the quickest of the day for the men. Choudhary dropped his first game, but answered in resounding fashion to clinch the match for the Quakers.

Trinity finally cracked the scoresheet to close the second wave, but Roger Baddour picked up a four-game win at No. 3 to make it 6-1. As was the case with Huang, freshman Omar Hafez went two games down in his match, then put up a fierce rally, claiming his first five-game win of the season.

Penn's regular season Ivy League finale is next Saturday at 1 p.m. against archrival Princeton from the Penn Squash Center.
