#9 Women Pick Up First Ivy Win of the Season as Squash Teams Sweep Big Green in Ivy Road Action

HANOVER, N.H. – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's squash teams picked up commanding victories over Dartmouth Saturday with the men sweeping their match, 9-0, and the women picking up an 8-1 win in Ivy League action.

Ranked #2 in the College Squash Association (CSA) ranks, the men made quick work of the #10 Big Green, running their win streak to 11 while sweeping an eighth straight opponent. The women, #9 in the CSA rankings, picked up their first conference win of the season and ninth straight road win over Dartmouth.

Jana Dweek and Natasha Pensler opened the women's match with 3-0 wins. Grace Lavin followed with a five-game win, rallying from 2-1 down to give Penn a first flight sweep. Malak Taha opened the second wave with a 3-0 win, her first victory as a Quaker. Penelope Oh followed with a close 3-0 win of her own, officially clinching the win for the Red and Blue.

After Dartmouth got on the board, co-captains Avni Anand and Ashley Manning picked up back-to-back 3-0 wins to make it 7-1. Eujung Park closed out the match with a 3-2 victory, holding on for the win after going up two games to none.

For the men, Abdelrahman Dweek set the tone for the day in the opening match, winning in just 21 minutes, the quickest men's match of the day. Tushar Shahani and Omar Hafez followed with two more 3-0 wins. Rehan Luthra picked up Penn's fourth win of the day and Nathan Kueh officially clinched the match midway through the second flight.

Saksham Choudhary grinded out a 54-minute, five-game win to make it 6-0 before the trio of Dana Santry, Nick Spizzirri, and Dillon Huang closed the day with three more 3-0 wins for Penn's ninth straight win over the Big Green dating back to 2014.

The Quakers remain in New England tomorrow for the long-awaited match with Harvard. The women will look to avenge a first-round loss in last season's Howe Cup while the #1 and #2 men's teams in the country will square off for the first time since last season's Potter Cup Final. Both matches will begin at 12:00 p.m.
