EUGENE, Ore. - For the second time in her career, senior Mayyi Mahama of the University of Pennsylvania track and field team was tabbed an All-American on Thursday evening, after taking 23rd in the hammer throw at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor T&F Championships at Hayward Field. 

Mahama earned honorable mention All-America with her throw of 62.33m (204-6) on her first attempt. This is her second honorable mention recognition, collecting the same accolade her freshman season in the hammer. 

A successful season for the senior, she concludes the year as a First-Team All-Ivy and Ivy Heps champion in the hammer. In the East Region Preliminaries, she reset the bar in program history with a throw of 66.93m (219-7) to take fifth in the event.
