PHILADELPHIA – USRowing has announced the athletes who have been invited to the 2022 Under 23 National Team Selection Camps this summer, and the list included a trio of University of Pennsylvania rowers who were invited to the respective sculling camps.
Athletes selected through the sculls and sweeps camps will represent the United States at the 2022 World Rowing Under 23 Championships, which will run July 25-30 in Varese, Italy.

On the women's side, sophomore
Simone Vorperian was one of 10 athletes selected for the women's sculling camp which will take place at the Oklahoma City High Performance Center. Under the direction of coaches Reilly Dampeer, Molly Hamrick and Marc Oria, the camp will select the women's quadruple sculls crew.
On the men's side, junior Tomio Filiaci and freshman Matt Davis were among the 10 athletes selected for the men's sculling camp which will be held at the nearby Conshohocken (Pa.) Rowing Center. Under the direction of coaches Craig Hoffman, James Konopka, Lyons Badley and Aaron Preetam, the camp will select the men's quadruple sculls crew.
