Varsity Eight
Penn's 15th-ranked boat made another statement on Saturday morning, taking second place in a four-boat race that featured all ranked eights. The Quakers clocked 6:25.09 across Lake Las Vegas' 2,000-meter course. That was a little more than five seconds behind No. 5 Stanford—which won the race in 6:19.69—but it was nearly three seconds better than No. 16 SMU (6:27.83) and more than seven seconds clear of No. 12 USC (6:32.59).
