HOW IT HAPPENED
Larsen drove in the game's first run in the second inning with a two-out single, plating Ben Miller, who had reached on a walk. After Calvin Brown singled and Seth Werchan walked to load the bases, Courtney singled to right field, scoring Larsen and Brown. Larsen added to the lead the next inning, reaching on a fielder's choice that again plated Miller.

Zaffiro stranded runners in scoring position in the first, second, and third innings, ending his day with two swinging strikeouts in the fourth. Brown ended the Charleston sixth with a highlight-reel diving catch in right

With one out in the seventh, Hernandez, Larsen and Brown strung together three straight one-out singles to load the bases. Werchan then chopped a single into right field, scoring both Hernandez and Larsen; after the Charleston shortstop mishandled the ball, Brown dashed home, putting Penn up by six.

Carson Ozmer and Danny Heintz quieted the Cougars' bats the rest of the way, not allowing a runner past first base over the final three innings.
