PHILADELPHIA – The 2021-22 collegiate squash season concluded Sunday from the Specter Center on the campus of Drexel University, with the University of Pennsylvania's
Nathan Kueh defeating teammate
Nick Spizzirri, 3-0, to win the Collegiate Squash Association Molloy Cup (B Division) Final in the west division.
The freshman joins
Yash Bhargava (2020), and Hayes Murphy (2016) as recent Molloy Cup champions for the Quakers. Kueh quickly took the first two games Sunday, 11-5 and 11-2. Facing match ball at 9-10, Spizzirri survived a 31-shot rally to stay alive. The sophomore took the proceeding point after a 28-shot rally, but Kueh answered with three straight points to close out the match.
The nine men who competed over the weekend posted a combined 19-8 record, with each player recording at least one victory and seven recording at least two. The four seniors who were in action this weekend (
Aly Abou Eleinen,
Andrew Douglas,
James Flynn, Bhargava) end their Penn careers with a combined 199 wins.
