Women's Squash Wraps Day One at CSA Individual Championships

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team completed day one of the CSA Individual Championships Friday afternoon from Drexel University's Specter Center. Six women started the day, with two continuing on to action Saturday.

Ashley Manning easily won her round of 16 match in the Holleran Cup's West region, dropping just seven points in a 3-0 win. In her quarterfinal matchup, Manning took a 2-0 lead and had four match ball opportunities (two in the third game and two in the fifth game), but Princeton's Emily Rose pulled out the victory.

Avni Anand was among the most dominant players on the courts Saturday, winning both her Round of 16 and quarterfinal matches 3-0, dropping just 27 total points between the two matches.

Emma Carter dropped a five-game heartbreaker in her quarterfinal match, but ended the day with a five-game win of her own in her consolation quarterfinal match.
