#1 Men's Squash Potter Cup Final-Bound After 6-3 Win Over #4 Yale

PHILADELPHIA – In front of one of the largest and loudest crowds in the history of the Penn Squash Center, the #1 University of Pennsylvania men's squash team defeated #4 Yale, 6-3, on Saturday, advancing to its second straight College Squash Association (CSA) Potter Cup Final.

Top to bottom, the Penn lineup showed the same resilience it has all season, rallying from 2-0 down in three separate matches to force a fifth game, winning one of them, and coming away with wins in two other matches after dropping the first game.

As he did Friday against Drexel, Saksham Choudhary picked up the first point of the day, running his record for the season to 16-0. Nathan Kueh followed with the first of many remarkable comebacks for the Quakers during the day. Kueh dropped the first two games, then rallied in remarkable fashion, conceding just nine points total across the final three games, putting Penn up 2-0.

In the final match of the opening wave, Aly Abou Eleinen kept his undefeated season alive with a five-game win after dropping the first game and falling behind 7-3 in the final game. Andrew Douglas followed with the third come-from-behind win of the day, dropping just 12 points over the final three games after going down 1-0.

Following Douglas' win, both Dana Santry and Nick Spizzirri rallied from 2-0 down to force fifth games before falling 3-2. With Yale still mathematically alive entering the final wave, Yash Bhargava, the program's all-time wins leader, made his 58th career victory perhaps the most memorable, clinching the match for the Quakers with a 3-0 win.

James Flynn followed with a five-game loss in a 75-minute match that saw two games go 13-11 and every game end 11-7 or closer. Dillon Huang put the cherry on top to close the day with a 3-0 win.
