CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The University of Pennsylvania women's swimming and diving team opened action at the 2022 Ivy League Championships on Wednesday evening at Blodgett Pool on the campus of Harvard University.
The Quakers are in fourth place with a score of 104 points after two events. Harvard leads heading into day two with a score of 118 points.
The Red and Blue competed in the 200 medley relay and the 800 free relay on day one.
The Penn quartet of
Lia Thomas,
Margot Kaczorowski,
Anna Kalandadze and
Bridget O'Leary finished in third in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:09.91. The mark was a new program record for the Red and Blue.
In the 200 medley relay, the Quakers came in fifth thanks to
Hannah Kannan,
Rachel Maizes,
Vanessa Chong and
Margot Kaczorowski posting a time of 1:40.33.
Day two of the Ivy League championships gets underway on Thursday with the prelims starting at 11:00 a.m. followed by the finals at 6:00 p.m.
