How It Happened
The Red and Blue came out with pressure to start the match. Penn had quite a few quality scoring chances in the early stages of the match, but Yale's keeper was able to make the necessary stops to keep the match scoreless.

Lawton had the first two shots of the match, but both shots were blocked. Her first shot came in the opening minute as she fired off a shot that was blocked just 21 seconds into the match.

The Bulldogs broke the scoreless tie near the half-hour mark as they sent a ball deep into the attacking zone and Laila Booker slotted a ball past a diving Gladu to make it 1-0 in the 27th minute.

Yale had two shots in the first half, the goal in the 27th minute and a blocked shot in the 35th minute.

Lawton opened the second half just like the first, with a pair of shots in the first 10 minutes. Her first shot was a ball sent high over the goal from inside the box and her second was blocked.

Penn made a nice stop on the Bulldogs' attack, blocking a shot and then successfully defending a corner by the home team. Penn took the next possession and Pringle fired off her first shot of the match wide right of the goal.

The Bulldogs looked to add to their lead, but Gladu was there to make the stop and keep it a 1-0 match.

Lucas fired a shot in the 86th minute that went wide right. Penn attacked late but Yale was able to keep the Quakers off the board for the full 90 minutes.
