PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis competed at the 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regional at Princeton over the weekend. The Red and Blue had seven compete at the regional tournament.

Penn had two doubles teams compete over the weekend, Maya Urata/Juliana Munhoz, and Eileen Wang/Gibson Thomas. Penn's freshmen team of Urata and Munhoz advanced to the round of 16 as the duo earned a first-round bye and then defeated Stony Brook's Kristine Theys and Loreto Rubio, 8-5. Their regional appearance ended with an 8-5 loss to St. John's Emilie Haakansson and Mouna Bouzgarrou. Wang and Thomas also received a bye but then lost to Temple's Veronika Kulhava and Sena Takebe, 8-4.
 
In addition to playing doubles, Munhoz, Urata, Thomas, and Wang all saw action in singles play along with Saige Roshkoff. Four of five Quakers earned first round byes. Thomas opened play with a three-set win over Wagner's Tara Dakic (6-7(2), 6-4, 12-10). Their regional play came to a close in the round of 64 as no one advanced to the round of 32.
