NEW YORK, N.Y.. – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's squash teams split their Ivy League matches at Columbia Friday afternoon, with the men winning 8-1 to move to 14-0, and the women falling in their match, 7-2.
The top-ranked men improved to 14-0 with their seventh win this season over a top 10 opponent in the College Squash Association (CSA) poll.
Dana Santry,
Dillon Huang, and
Andrew Douglas staked the men an early 3-0 advantage, sweeping the first flight matches. Douglas dropped the first game of his match at #1,but rallied to win in five.
Yash Bhargava and
Saksham Choudhary each picked up three-game wins in the second flight, clinching the match before the start of the final flight.
Roger Baddour,
Nathan Kueh, and
Aly Abou Eleinen closed out the match with three more Quaker wins, with Eleinen nearly bageling his opponent to close out the final match of the night.
Up Next
The Quakers return home Sunday for a 12 p.m. conference clash with Cornell. A win for the men would clinch at least a shar of the team's first Ivy League championship since 1974.
