Men's Squash Opens Ivy League Play With No. 2 Harvard, No.11 Dartmouth

PHILADELPHIA – The top-ranked University of Pennsylvania's men's squash team opens Ivy League competition this weekend with a pair of matches from the Penn Squash Center, including a No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown with Harvard on Saturday. The Quakers wrap up the weekend against No. 11 Dartmouth Sunday morning.

Previewing Penn
The Quakers have been nearly flawless this season, with seven 9-0 sweeps in their nine matches, including three against top-15 teams (#5 Drexel, #15 Franklin and Marshall, #14 Williams). The Quakers have dropped just 22 games since the start of the season.

Yash Bhargava won his 50th career match in Penn's last outing at #10 Rochester back on December 4, the first male Quaker to ever reach that mark. Six Quakers have started the season 5-0 or better, including junior Aly Abou Eleinen, who enters the weekend 8-0 and surpassed 40 victories in just over two seasons of competition back in November.

Previewing the Big Green
  • Dartmouth enters the weekend on a three-match win streak after starting the season 0-2. The Big Green started the calendar year with a 6-3 win over #16 Williams on January 4.
  • Christian Shah leads the team with four wins at No. 5, Chris Zachary is 3-1, and four men have posted 3-2 records, including James Bell, who's played all five matches at No. 1.
