PRINCETON, N.J. – Rowing at the Princeton Chase for the first time since 2015, the University of Pennsylvania women's rowing team had another notable day as it closed out the fall portion of its 2021-22 schedule Sunday on Lake Carnegie.
The Quakers won the Women's Fours with a boat that was coxed by
Helena Wolk with rowers
Samy Morton,
Hannah Lemanowicz,
Alessandra Bennion and
Sophie Klessel. The Quakers clocked 15:49.954 over the three-mile Lake Carnegie course, the best time in the 19-boat trial. Rutgers was second, a little less than six seconds behind the Quakers. Penn's "B" boat was 12th in the field in 16:56.711.
The women also had success in the Open Eights, the Quakers' "A" boat finishing third out of 34 boats in a time of 14:13.858. That was behind only Princeton (13:50.372) and Brown (14:09.410). Penn rowed four boats in the division overall.
It was a busy day for the program as the Quakers finished second in the double sculls, fourth in the 2-without-cox, and rowed the only two boats in the 4-without-cox.
