PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's squash teams returned from a 600+ day hiatus in dominating fashion on Saturday morning, as both teams defeated Chatham, 9-0, with the Cougars managing to win just one game between the 15 matches.

Freshman Emma Wolf kicked off her career in style and set the tone for the morning, taking the first match of the day for either side 11-1, 11-3, 11-2. Sophomore Yoshna Singh, playing in the #1 spot in her first collegiate match, showed no sign of nerves en route to an 11-2, 11-4, 11-3 victory. Junior Euwie Park, one of just five returning players from 2019-20, won her match out of the #3 spot 11-3, 11-3, and 11-1. Sophomore Penelope Oh conceded just four total points during her match (11-1, 11-2, and 11-1) and sophomore Abbie Rorke fell two points shy of a triple bagel, winning 11-0, 11-0, 11-2. Freshman Emma Carter made it six 3-0 matches when she won her first collegiate match 11-4, 11-7, 11-4.

Junior Tushar Shahani set the tone early on the men's side, winning all three games 11-3. Classmate Aly Abou Eleinen, playing out of the #1 spot, won his match comfortably 11-5, 11-4, 11-3; Saksham Choudhary nearly identically matched him on the scoreboard, taking his match 11-4, 11-3, 11-5. Brian Cowhey won his first two games easily 11-2 and 11-1, then survived two game points to take the third, 12-10, and close out the match. Dillon Huang also survived a game point in the third to close out his 3-0 win (11-9, 11-5, 12-10). Shaam Gambhir (11-9, 11-5, 11-7), Zach Bradlow (11-6, 11-4, 11-5) and Nick Spizzirri (11-4, 11-3, 11-1) made it 14 straight 3-0 victories to open the day. In the final match of the morning, Chatham put the lone blemish on an otherwise perfect scoreboard as Nathan Kueh dropped the first game 11-8 before responding in convincing fashion, closing the match 11-8, 11-4, and 11-3 in the second, third, and fourth games, respectively.
