HARTFORD, CONN. – The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team (5-3, 1-1) suffered an 8-1 defeat to the #2 Trinity Bantams (9-0) on Saturday. The loss wraps up a three-match road trip for the Quakers.
The Bantams held off early pressure by the Quakers to jump start their victory.
Julia Buchholz and
Euwie Park each dropped razor thin losses early in the match by final scores of 3-2, giving the Bantams the cushion, they needed.
Amina Abou El Enin continued her undefeated collegiate campaign with a 3-0 victory over her opponent from Trinity. It appeared that her sister Jamila would do the same, after jumping out to a 1-0 lead, but her opponent battled back for a victory.
Several of the matchups in this one had 11-9 games or closer. Six games were won by Trinity by that margin or closer and allowed momentum to swing in the Bantams favor.
