How it Happened
Making her third start in the circle, freshman

The Broncos started the scoring with a two-out, solo-shot to center field by Logan Carter. Penn once again put runners on first and second, but once again were unable to bring them home. Western Michigan added on to its lead with a Kaylen Glenfield single to right field, bringing in the runner on second.Â
For a third-straight inning, the Red and Blue put runners on first and second in the third, but again, back-to-back outs ended the side with runners on base.Â
The Quakers finally brought a runner home to cut into the Bronco lead in the fourth.
Sam Pederson put
Corrie Phillips in scoring position, laying down a bunt.
Kayla Ketring then singled to left field to bring Phillips home to make it, 2-1.Â
Sarah Cwiertnia walked to load the bases with two outs, but a ground-out to third by Yang ended the side one run scored.Â
The Broncos responded with a run of their own in the fifth to go up 3-1. Then in the sixth, back-to-back two run singles capped off a five-run inning to make it, 8-1 in favor of Western Michigan.Â
