PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team (7-4, 2-3 Ivy) was swept for the first time since 2012 as it lost to Harvard, 9-0, on Sunday.
How it Happened
The Quakers came into Sunday having defeated Dartmouth the day before, however, Harvard proved to be too much on Sunday. Penn was swept in seven of nine matches against the top-ranked Crimson.
For the first time since the Individual Championship finals last season,
Reeham Salah lost a game. The defending CSA national champion, lost the second game, 11-9, after taking the first by the same score. The senior fell in the third 12-10 and then for the first time since her sophomore year, Salah lost a match, ending an incredible streak of 31 straight wins.
At number two,
Jessica Davis put up a good effort against last year's runner-up in the CSA individual finals. Davis lost the first two games, 12-10, 13-11 before losing the third, 11-5.
Haley Scott took a game at number seven. Scott lost the first two games, 11-1, 11-5, but came back to take the third, 11-9. She then lost the fourth game, 11-3 to go down 3-1.
What's Next
The Quakers host Cornell for its final match in Philadelphia for the season. The Red and Blue will honor its senior class for senior day prior to the match.
