NEW YORK, N.Y. - The University of Pennsylvania men's squash team wrapped up its regular season on Sunday in New York against Columbia. The Quakers losts just their third match of the season, and first on the road, 6-3, to the Lions.
How it Happened
Aly Abou Eleinen finished the regular season with a stellar, 13-1 record. His only loss came in four games against No. 1 Harvard. The freshman came through for Penn, 3-0, on Sunday.
Yash Bhargava and
Jonathan Zeitels each won in four games at seven and nine in the lineup. Bhargava came back after losing the first game to take the next three, 11-5, 11-9, 11-5. Zeitels went up 2-0 before losing the third. The co-captain then closed his match in the fourth, 11-5.
Freshmen
James Flynn and
Michael Mehl each lost in four games.
Wil Hagen also lost a tough match after going up, 2-1, he lost 11-5 in the fourth game that forced a fifth. Hagen then lost 11-2 in the decider.
What's Next
The Quakers will prepare for team championships next week at Yale.
