WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team (3-1, 0-0) turned in an impressive bounce back performance, defeating #15 George Washington (1-3) by a final score of 6-3.
Straight out of the gate, the Quaker women were fired up and looking to avenge their tight loss to #4 Stanford the day before. Right off the bat, the Quakers took a 4-0 lead, including a 3-0 win by
Haley Scott to improve her terrific opening-season mark to 4-0.
The Colonial showed a little bit of life, when they defeated
Jessica Davis and cut the deficit to three. However,
Euwie Park was in command of her match during the Davis match and ultimately prevailed to deliver the clincher.
For good measure, the Quakers tacked on another win at the very end, with captain
Julia Buchholz turning in a gritty, 3-0 victory. The win marked her 25th in her Penn career and delivered the Quakers the icing on the cake on a big win.
