PHILADELPHIA – For the first time in her career, sophomore Jordyn Mannino earned ECAC weekly distinction, garnering the Coaches Choice Award, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
The acknowledgement comes on the heels of Mannino's solid performance on Saturday's dual meet at Yale. Penn began the day on the bars and, with four scores in the books, Mannino earned a 9.675 to help solidify the Quakers' 48.200 combined score on the event.
After moving from the bars to the vault, Penn transitioned to the floor for the third rotation where Mannino excelled. She unleashed a 9.800, the best on the team and the third-best of anyone at the meet, to elevate Penn's combined score to 48.375. The two events that Mannino competed in were Penn's top-two combined scores on the afternoon.
Mannino and the Quakers are back in action on Sunday, Jan. 27 at Temple's quad meet to compete against Ithaca, Ursinus and the host Owls. First rotation is set for 3 p.m.
