Women's Squash to Host No. 4 Stanford, No. 14 George Washington, Virginia at Drexel

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania wommen's squash team (2-0) plays it home opener at Drexel this weekend against No. 4 Stanford and No. 14 George Washington. The Quakers will host both teams at the Kline and Specter Squash Center at the Daskalakis Athletic Center located on 34th and Market. 

Previewing Penn

The Quakers will hit the court for the first time at the Kline and Specter Squash Center. Penn enters the weekend having defeated No. 21 Franklin & Marshall and No. 9 Drexel to capture its second straight Pennsylvania State Classic title.

At the top of the lineup, Reeham Salah has once again shown why she won the national championship last season. The senior captain went 2-0 last week without dropping a game and lost just two points in her win against Drexel. 

Juniors Jessica Davis and Lindsay Stanley each came up big for Penn last week. Davis won both her matches without losing a game while Stanley may have won the biggest match for the Quakers as it was her comeback from 2-0 down in the final against Drexel that clinched the win.

The Quakers fell to Stanford last season in a close 6-3 battle in Virginia. The two teams met again in the Howe Cup where Penn fell 5-4 in the consolation final. Penn will get the Cardinal at home on Friday. Prior to last season's meetings, Penn had won the previous 12 including 6-0 at home.

The Cardinal begin the season ranked No. 4 in the country and will be playing their first matches of the season this weekend. 

Penn vs George Washington – Saturday, 2:00 p.m.
Series Information
Records: Penn leads 10-0 | Last Meeting: November 19, 2016 (Penn, 9-0)

Penn is 10-0 against the Colonials all time. The Quakers won in 2016, 9-0. 

Previewing George Washington
The Colonials are 1-0 this season with their lone win also coming against Georgetown, 9-0. 

Penn vs Virginia – Sunday, 1:00 p.m.
Series Information
Records: Penn leads 2-0 | Last Meeting: November 18, 2017 (Penn, 8-1)

The Quakers defeated the Cavaliers last season 8-1 in Virginia. This will mark the third straight straight season that the two teams have met. 

Previewing Virginia
The Cavaliers are 3-1 this season with one of those wins also coming against Georgetown, 9-0. Virginia's only loss came to Stanford.
