PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania men's squash team (2-0) plays it home opener at Drexel this weekend against No. 9 George Washington and No. 13 Virginia. The Quakers will host both teams at the Kline and Specter Squash Center at the Daskalakis Athletic Center located on 34th and Market.
Previewing Penn
The Quakers will hit the court for the first time at the Kline and Specter Squash Center. Penn enters the weekend having defeated No. 17 Franklin & Marshall and No. 11 Drexel by a combined 17-1 score to capture its second straight Pennsylvania State Classic title.
At the top of the lineup,
Andrew Douglas has picked up where he left off in his freshman season. The sophomore went 2-0 last week without dropping a game.
The freshman trio of
Aly Abou Eleinen,
Michael Mehl, and
James Flynn also each went 2-0. Abou Eleinen and Flynn each won without dropping a game. Mehl however bounced back against Drexel's Filip Krueger after losing the second to take the third and fourth games, 11-9.
The Red and Blue defeated Virginia, 9-0, last season and will match up against George Washington for the fifth time since 2012.

This will mark the fifth meeting between the Quakers and Colonials since 2010. Penn has taken three of the previous four with the only loss coming in 2012.
Previewing George Washington
The Colonials are at their highest ranking in program history sitting at No. 9 in the nation and are also 2-1 to begin the season. The two wins came against Georgetown and Hobart and the lone loss to Western Ontario. Like Penn, George Washington also defeated Georgetown 9-0.

Penn is 2-0 against the Cavaliers in its previous two meeting and have not lost a match in those two meetings.
Previewing Virginia
The Cavaliers had one of the biggest wins in college squash last weekend when they knocked off No. 8 Princeton, 5-4. Still, Virginia is 2-1 this season with its other win coming against Richmond.
