Stephanie Wolf Headlines Women at January's North American Cup

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The University of Pennsylvania women's fencing team finished the January North American Cup on Monday and while they didn't earn the medals that the men's team did, they did have their fair share of success. Headlining the women was Stephanie Wolf who earned a top-10, ninth place finish in the Division I Women's Epee.

Wolf, the second seed, won two tough, dramatic bouts right out of the gates as she earned back-to-back one point victories. The senior defeated Mina Yamanaka of Long Island, 15-14, before defeating Minnesota's Azaline Dunlap-Smith, 8-7. Wolf was then ousted in the round of 16 by Natalie Vie from Arizona, 15-9.

Also earning top 50 finishes were Nicole Vaiani who finished 25th in division I Women's Foil, Danielle Ferdon who placed 47th in Junior Women's Foil, Sara Papp who ended up 46th in Junior Women's Saber, and lastly Kathryn Khaw who finished 37th in Division I Women's Saber.
