PHILADELPHIA - For the first time in three matches, the University of Pennsylvania men's squash team (8-1, 2-0 Ivy) didn't have to wait until the final match of the day to find out whether or not they would walk away with a victory. Sunday afternoon's win came a lot earlier as the Quakers swept all nine matches against Brown to earn their fourth 9-0 victory of the season.
With the win Penn improves to 8-1 on the season which includes being 2-0 in the Ivy League. The Quakers followed up the history of defeating Yale at The Ringe for the first time since 1995 by making more history. The 8-1 start is the best start for the men's team since 1985. That season the Quakers started 10-0 before losing their final two matches and finishing third in the Ivy.Â
After playing three matches in five days and going 3-0 in those matches, the Quakers get five days off before they travel to Trinity next Saturday to play the number one men's squash team in the nation on the road.Â
