PHILADELPHIA - Fresh off its 69-6 season-opening win over Caldwell Saturday, the University of Pennsylvania sprint football team prepares for a week two matchup on the road at Chestnut Hill Friday night. Friday night's contest presents the second-straight South Division game for the Quakers, as they seek to take over sole possession of the top spot.

PREVIEWING PENN
*The Quakers are coming off a 69-6 thrashing of Caldwell in week one behind huge offensive days from quarterback Eddie Jenkins and running back
Jake Klaus. Penn posted 561 yards of total offense while Jenkins and Klaus combined for six of the Quakers' ten touchdowns on the day.
*The Penn defense was equally impressive, holding the Cougars to just 209 yards of total offense and keeping the hosts off the board until the 9:20 mark of the third quarter Saturday. The Quakers forced seven turnover on downs, due in large part to a team-leading six solo tackles from
Matt Gorman and two sacks from
Kevin Lajeunesse.
*Jenkins was named CSFL Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Caldwell. The sophomore was 11-of-16 passing for 191 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 83 yards and a score to open the 2017 season. Jenkins currently ranks second in the CSFL in passing yards and sixth in rushing.
*Penn squares off against Chestnut Hill for the second time in program history Friday night. The Quakers made easy work of the Griffins last season, 53-7, fueled by a huge game from
Aidan Kelly who caught five passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns.
Marcus Jones also added two touchdown receptions, while Jenkins rushed for a game-high 63 yards and two scores.
NEWS AND NOTES: CHESTNUT HILL
*Chestnut Hill dropped its season opener at home to Navy Saturday, 27-17. Despite trailing the Midshipmen by just three at the half, the Griffins were outscored 14-7 over the final two quarters in the loss.
*Quarterback Michael Mariano had a strong showing for Chestnut Hill in the opener, throwing for 183 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-22 passing.
*The Griffin defense limited Navy to 299 yards of total offense while also forcing four fumbles on the day. Brian Layden tied for the team-high in tackles with eight and was responsible for a forced fumble.
