JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After tying the game at three in the fifth inning off a Peter Matt RBI double, the University of Pennsylvania baseball team put itself in position to take the lead late, but a three-run seventh inning propelled North Florida to a 7-3 victory and series sweep. Freshman Chris Adams led the Quakers offensively in his first career start, tallying three hits in his first three at-bats while also driving in a run in the second inning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Quakers found themselves down a run after the first full inning in Sunday's series finale, but fought back to even the score in the top of the second when Sean Phelan led off the frame with a single to left-center. Although North Florida starter Adam Polansky was able to retire the next two batters, Matt Tola singled through the left side to move Phelan to second before Chris Adams came through with a run-scoring single to right to knot the game at one.
The Ospreys answered with a run of their own in the bottom half, chasing Penn starter Gabe Kleiman from the game with the bases loaded after two-plus innings of work. Billy Lescher entered from the bullpen and stranded all three inherited runners with help from right fielder Daniel Halevy, who tracked down a fly ball then fired to the plate to cut down a potential run for UNF. Lescher tossed three hitless innings in relief, retiring seven of the eight batters he faced.
Penn answered back in the top of the third when Andrew Murnane led off with a walk and advanced to third on perfectly executed hit-and-run single to right from Matt O'Neill to put runners on the corners with no outs. Tim Graul followed with his second run batted in in as many days, sending a sacrifice fly to deep center to score Murnane from third. After North Florida tallied the go-ahead run in the bottom half, Peter Matt continued his strong start to his rookie campaign with two-out RBI double to right to even the game at three.
However the Ospreys (7-4) would break the game open in the seventh inning, taking advantage of two walks and three-consecutive singles to post a three-spot in the frame before adding an insurance run in the eighth to take a four-run lead. Penn could not answer offensively in the late innings, as they were retired in order in the seventh, eighth and ninth.
