NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Another
day, another shutout. The University of Pennsylvania’s women’s squash team put together
its second consecutive 9-0 victory on Sunday, eclipsing No. 5 Yale to improve to 4-1
in the Ivy League. The second-ranked Quakers improve their overall record to 9-1
this season.
Penn tallied five 3-0 victories on the afternoon, including
one courtesy of Reeham Salah. The sophomore, who still has yet to drop a game
this season, improved to 10-0 in Penn’s No. 1 slot. Other sweeps came off the racquets
of Marie Stephan (No. 3), Anaka Alankamony (No. 4) , Michelle Wong (No. 6), and
Lindsay Stanley (No. 8). Stephan improved to 9-1 on the year, while Wong picked
up her sixth-straight win.
Melissa Alves moved her record to 8-0 in Penn’s No. 2 spot
thanks to an 11-6, 10-12, 11-6, 12-10 triumph over Lucy Beecroft. Freshman Jess
Davis (No. 5) and senior captain Grace van Arkel (No. 7) were also four-game
victors, while freshman Clare Kearns registered a 3-2 win at No. 9.
