Roger Jerez began his role as the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports at the University of Pennsylvania in July 2021. In this capacity, he is responsible for the administration and daily operations of both the Intramural Sports and Sport Club programs. Roger directly oversees the operations of all 35 Sport Clubs, in addition to managing various Intramural Sport leagues and tournaments throughout the year.

Before joining Penn, Roger worked as the Intramural Coordinator at the University of Delaware from 2017 to 2021. There, he was responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing intramural sports, activities, and events for the university community.

Roger earned his bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida in 2014, where he was actively involved in campus recreation as a program assistant and supervisor for the Intramural Sports program. He went on to obtain a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University in 2017. During his time at Georgia Southern, Roger served as a graduate assistant for the Intramural and Club Sports programs for Campus Recreation and Intramurals (CRI).

Throughout his career, Roger has contributed to numerous regional and national committees and work teams. His roles have included serving on the Officials Committee at the NIRSA Flag Football National Championships (2018, 2020, 2022, and 2023), as Tournament Director for the 2024 NIRSA Flag Football National Championships, as Chair of the NIRSA Championship Series: Flag Football Work Team (2024-2025), as a member of the NIRSA Flag Football Rulebook Editorial Board (2023-2025) and most recently being named as Editor for 23rd and 24th editions of NIRSA Flag Football Rulebook. He is an active member of the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA).

Outside of work, Roger is an active college football and high school football official. He has been officiating since 2011. Roger, his wife (Jen) and daughter (Izzy) living in Wilmington, Del. with their dog, Luna.
