Eric Raumen joined the Penn Athletics Department as an Assistant Director of Communications for Penn Relays & Penn Cross-Country/Track & Field in August of 2024.
Raumen came to Philadelphia from Virginia Tech, where he served as the primary media contact for the Hokies’ cross country, track & field, and women’s soccer teams. As the creative communications coordinator, he also oversaw creative strategy and content for the Hokies’ three ACC indoor track and field championships during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Prior to working at Tech, Raumen had a stint as an athletic communications assistant at Grand Valley State University, where he created original media content for the NCAA DII men’s cross country and indoor track & field championship teams and the women’s runner-up teams. He served as the primary contact for cross country, track & field, and men’s and women’s golf.
Raumen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in international business with a concentration in marketing from Eastern Michigan University in 2015. He immediately went on to earn a master’s of science degree in integrated marketing communications from West Virginia University in 2017. After earning a certificate in graphic design, he obtained his second master’s degree in business administration - marketing management at the University of Toledo in 2021.
