Aaron Robison, who has spent the previous five years as the Director of Collegiate Track & Field at The Armory Foundation, is in his first year as the Associate Director of the Penn Relays.
Robison arrives at Penn from The Armory, an indoor track & field facility in New York City which hosts 100,000 professional, collegiate and high school competitors annually. As the Director of Collegiate Track & Field, Robison directed numerous large-scale track & field meets and events each year, including the Dr. Sander Invitational, the Armory Track & Field Camp, the Armory Indoor Marathon, and the Armory Combine. He also served on the executive team at the Millrose Games and was the curator of the National Track & Field Hall of Fame.
“I am honored to be a part of the Penn Relays and continue the tradition and excellence of the most historic and exciting track & field event in the sport,” Robison said. “I am excited to work with Steve Dolan, (Executive Director of the Penn Relays) Scott Ward and (T. Gibbs Kane, Jr. W’69 Director of Athletics and Recreation) Alanna Shanahan and humbled that they have chosen me to be a part of the next phase of this storied event.”
Prior to joining The Armory in 2016, Robison was the Program Development Director and Social Media Manager for the National Athletic Institute for two years. He began his career as the Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach at Westlake High School in Saratoga Springs, Utah, leading the boys’ cross country team to a #24 national ranking in 2013.
Robison competed at Brigham Young University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science teaching in 2009. He also earned a master’s of business and science: sports management from Rutgers in 2016.
