Evan Feltz was hired as an assistant coach with the Penn volleyball program in September 2020. His first season on Penn's staff (2021) started with three straight wins, the Quakers winning their own Sheraton University City Invitational, and ended with the program's first true sweep of an Ivy League weekend since the 2012 season as Penn beat both Cornell and Columbia by 3-0 scores at The Palestra. Junior outside hitter Autumn Leak earned second-team All-Ivy honors as the Red and Blue exceeded preseason expectations.
A graduate of Saint Francis University (Pa.), Feltz came to Penn after spending the 2019 season on Dani Busboom Kelly’s staff at the University of Louisville as a volunteer assistant. The Cardinals went 22-10 last season and advanced to the NCAA Championship quarterfinal round for the first time in program history.
In addition to his stint at Louisville, Feltz has coaching experience at the club level with both Vanguard Volleyball Club and KIVA Sports.
A native of Westerville, Ohio, Feltz played Division I volleyball at Saint Francis for four years and helped the Red Flash earn runner-up finishes in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) in 2016 and 2017. As a senior, the outside hitter made 14 starts and played 202 sets with 34 aces, 99 digs and 33 blocks. He hit .265 as a senior and scored 268.5 points. Feltz ended his final season with 138 kills, 24 aces, 69 digs, and 18 blocks. As a junior, he appeared in 28 of SFU’s 29 matches and recorded 62 kills, 22 digs and seven service aces.
Feltz graduated from Saint Francis with a degree in marketing and a minor in sports management.
