Meghan Cartafalsa was hired at the University of Pennsylvania in August 2019. In working with the Quakers’ track & field programs, she serves as the medical point person for the annual Penn Relays, in which she ran as a CYO athlete and later for Friends’ Central School.
 
Cartafalsa came to Penn from the University of Miami, where she spent two years as a graduate assistant working with the Hurricanes’ cross country/track & field, swimming & diving, and women’s rowing programs while also assisting with health care during preseason football camp. Of note, she was Medical Meet Director at the 2018 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. During her time at “The U,” Cartafalsa completed courses toward a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Miami’s School of Education and Human Development.
 
Cartafalsa spent the 2016-17 academic year at Palm Beach Atlantic University, working with the Sailfish’s soccer, softball and golf programs.
 
Cartafalsa—who grew up in nearby Havertown and lettered in four sports at Friends’ Central—attended from Florida Southern College and graduated with a degree in Athletic Training in 2016. During her time as an undergrad, she worked directly with the Mocs’ Division 2 national championship men’s basketball program in 2014-15 as well as the women’s volleyball team. Cartafalsa also did off-campus rotations with the football programs at the University of South Florida and Stanford University.
 
Cartafalsa has been a National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA) member since 2014. A Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC), she also has certifications in Intravenous Therapy as well as Adult First Aid/CPR/AED/Professional Rescuer.
