Kirsten (Strausbaugh) Becker was hired in August 2015 and recently competed her fourth year as an assistant coach with the gymnastics program at her alma mater.
A 2013 Penn graduate, Becker returned to the Red and Blue just two years removed from a standout gymnastics career of her own. The two-time captain helped lead the Quakers to consecutive Ivy Classic championships in 2011 and 2012, and back-to-back ECAC titles during her junior and senior seasons. Becker was twice named Penn’s Most Valuable Gymnast as well as the squad’s Most Inspirational Gymnast. As a senior, she was an NCAA Regional qualifier in the all-around and the ECAC Gymnast of the Year. Following that year, Becker was Penn's nominee for the prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
Becker's career bests included a 39.2 in the all-around, 9.775 on vault, 9.85 on bars, 9.9 on beam and 9.875 on floor.
Becker graduated from Penn with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and a minor in consumer psychology.Â
Kirsten and former Penn Football player and current assistant coach Ryan Becker were married in June 2018.
