2006 second-team All-Ivy (outdoor 4x400 relay)
Shepherd made as big an impact on the team as any freshman did in 2006. He was the consistent anchor leg of the 4x400 relay, a team that was the Heptagonal Champions indoors and runner-up outdoors. He was in arguably the most competitive event in the league (400) and placed fourth both indoors and outdoors. Sam was an All-East performer in his first year with the Quakers, and aims to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the upcoming seasons. He has goals of running in the 46s this season and splitting 45s in the relay. Already known as one of the toughest athletes on the team, his first goal is to bring the Heptagonal team title back to the Penn campus. If hard work and diligence are any indicators, he will surely achieve the goals he has set for himself in 2007. Sam is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
