Biography
Powell on Sangobowale: “A two-sport student-athlete at Penn, Mike is the prototypical collegiate student-athlete. Hard-working, disciplined, and extremely coachable, are a few of characteristics used to describe Mike. He has improved dramatically in the discus, and hopes to be a key contributor in that event as well as the shot put in 2005. He continues to get stronger and stronger in the weightroom which will hopefully correlate to further throws in the coming season. Mike will take on a new role this year as he assumes leadership of the throwing crew that lost three seniors to graduation in 2004. A defensive tackle on the football team Mike is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences as a cognitive science major.”
2004-05: Finished 27 in the discus at the 2005 Penn Relays ... Placed fourth in the discus against Princeton, Rutgers and Villanova on April 16 ... Took fourth in the discus at the Quaker Invitational
