Why Penn? “I chose Penn for both academic and athletic purposes. Having Coach Volpenhein, an Olympic gold medal winner, as a coach and resource on a daily basis is something that is truly indispensable. Second, the bioengineering department here at Penn is one of the best in the country and allows me to pursue my interest to the highest level possible.”
Why Rowing? “I chose rowing because of the control you have over the outcomes. Your result on race day is the product of the months of work you put in prior, and if you train harder and smarter than your competitors you can best set yourself up for the results that you want.”
