Biography

2004-05: Finished 11th in the 10,000m at the Outdoor Heps ...

Powell on Lieb: “This scrappy competitor emerged as a superstar in the cross country season of his sophomore year when he finished 26th at the NCAA Championships, a placing good enough to earn All-American honors.  Dusty finished as the top man in the extremely competitive Mid-Atlantic region during that national meet.   He followed that up by earning an NCAA qualifying time in his first race indoors with a solid time of 14:09.45.  However the year following was plagued by various injuries which kept Lieb off the track until March. He quickly regained his form this past season as he again established himself as the top distance runner in the Ivy League after scorching the field at the 2004 Outdoor Heptagonal Championships in the 10,000m.  Dusty is intent on leading the harrier squad towards a Heps Championship in cross-country, a title that has long aluded the Quakers. It is likely that you will again see Lieb at possibly three NCAA Championships culminating with the outdoor meet in June.  He could, in the process, graduate as quite possibly the best distance runner in the history of the Penn program.  Dusty is majoring in engineering.”
