Mike Burkeitt was hired at the University of Pennsylvania in July 2018 and promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in 2024.
Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Burkeitt graduated from Temple University in 2016 before attending Old Dominion University for his master’s degree, graduating in 2018.
While at Old Dominion, Burkeitt was a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Monarchs’ men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams as well as women’s rowing during his first year. His second year at ODU, he worked with the men’s soccer team as the Monarchs won the Conference USA championship and earned an NCAA College Cup berth, losing to top-seeded Indiana.
Burkeitt has been a National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA) member since 2013. A Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC), he also has certifications as a Stop The Bleed instructor in addition to certifications in basic life support as well as corrective exercise specialist.
Burkeitt resides in southern New Jersey with his wife Lexi and their dog Eleanor.
