Tutoring?
Penn student-athletes are students first, and athletes second. The Student Development Department recognizes that, and makes every effort to provide individualized academic support for student-athletes.
The Department offers tutoring specifically for student-athletes. All tutors are current or former student-athletes themselves, who demonstrate proficiency in the courses they tutor, as well as an understanding of life as a student-athlete at Penn.
Throughout the Fall and Spring semesters, athletics tutoring boasts approximately 25-40 tutors, typically providing support for over 60 courses.
All student-athletes have the opportunity to schedule individual 1-hour sessions with tutors. With access to 24 hours of available tutoring time throughout each week, students have the flexibility to find time that fits their academic and athletic schedules.
In the event that the athletics tutoring program cannot meet a student’s needs, the Department’s Student Development Coordinator will facilitate the process of placing the student with a tutor through the University’s main Tutoring Center for all Penn students.
