Gymnastics Claims Third Straight Ivy Classic Title Sunday in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team competed in the Ivy Classic Sunday afternoon, coming home victorious for the third time in a row with a 195.800. Yale was just behind with a 195.525, Cornell third with a 193.575, and Brown fourth with a 192.250.

VAULT – 48.875
The Quakers put up the best vault rotation at the event with a 48.875. Junior Jordan Barrow comes home a champ once again on the vault with a 9.825. This is Barrow's third top finish on the vault this year. Sophomore Manama Fofana was just behind with a 9.800.

BARS – 48.875
With a matching score to the vault, the bars was a very balanced rotation for Penn. The top performer was sophomore Luci Toczydlowski, who earned her fourth first place on the bars this year with a career-best 9.850. The other four Quakers all scored in the 9.7s.

BEAM – 49.125
The crown jewel of the meet for the Quakers, the beam is where the champions were made. Entering the beam with a razor thin margin against Yale, the Quakers needed a big rotation and delivered in spades. Junior Barrow delivered her career high of a 9.900 on Penn's biggest stage. Maggie Murphy, Mimi Fletcher, and Manama Fofana all provided 9.800s while freshman Ruth Whaley earned a 9.825.

FLOOR – 48.925
The floor was the Quakers first event of the day, and it got Penn off on the right foot. As she has all year, Manama Fofana was a key piece in the day's good start with a 9.875 on the floor exercise. Marissa Lassier also had a notable performance with a 9.800.

 Rotation Notes
* The Quakers are now one-third of the way to a third consecutive "treble". The GEC regular season title and GEC Championship would be to follow to earn the accolade.
* The Quakers had four more first place finishes this week. They remain undefeated as they cross the halfway point of the season.
* Today's 195.800 is the second highest score of the year for the Red and Blue.
